Jessica + John // West Point Wedding

A West Point Wedding

Ohhh friends. Where do I even start with this day? What better place than the beginning, right?

I woke up to POURING rain. Seriously, pouring. It kept up all morning and the entire drive up to the West Point campus. I was white knuckle driving it was so bad. The weather app said it would all let up around 2pm in the afternoon but boy it sure didn't seem like it on that drive. So. Much. Rain.

Once I arrived and met up with the amazing team I would be working with, the rain ceased to be an issue. We were there to serve John and Jessica and that was all that mattered! I hadn't seen these two since their Fall engagement session in Hoboken and I couldn't wait to see them again! I love how laid back, relaxed and fun these two were and I knew it was going to be such a fun and fabulous day!!

The rain did in fact clear up and when it was time for us to head outside for photos, we had clear blue skies. It was literally like two different days between the morning and the afternoon. Everything was running smoothly on time and we all got over to the ceremony, ready to get these two married!!!

All of the details were perfect, from Jessica's stunning Kleinfeld gown to the perfect summer dresses from Nordstrom for her bridesmaids. The flowers were not only gorgeous but they smelled amazing as well. After these two said I do during their beautiful ceremony, the rest of the day flew by! We went around the West Point campus for portraits and then back to the Thayer Hotel for cocktail hour and reception. It was just after the beginning of the reception that we were greeted by an amazing rainbow right over the Hudson river! It was the perfect ending to the most perfect day!

John and Jessica, I love the way the two of you interact and love each other. Your family and friends were such a pleasure to spend the day with and I am so happy for the two of you. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan!!

Amazing people who made this wedding possible:

Ryan + Michelle // Park Chateau NJ Wedding

Park Chateau East Brunswick NJ Wedding Photos

The wedding of Ryan & Michelle at The Park Chateau was one I was looking to for a looooong time. I met Michelle through the Rising Tide Society and she is honestly one of the sweetest and nicest people I have ever met. She runs a thriving hair and makeup business and is not only a sweetheart, but a master at what she does!

When she and Ryan got engaged all of us were SO excited that one of our own was about to plan her own wedding!! My great friend Jennifer Larson was on tap to shoot their wedding and when she asked me to 2nd shoot with her I was over the moon excited to not only come to their wedding but to be able to serve them on their most special day!

The entire week leading up to the wedding, the forecast called for rain. We were kind of all hoping it would be typical and change a few days closer but NOPE. Literally the app said 100% chance of rain from like 9am till 10pm. Seriously. 100%. And it was right. It literally rained and rained and rained all day, but that did not dampen anyone's spirits! Everyone had an amazing day and the venue was so stunningly gorgeous that it didn't even matter. So many awesome places to shoot inside as well!

I hung out with Ryan and his brothers and let me tell you the three of them were hysterical. And when Ryan opened his gift from Michelle, I'm telling you, it was probably the best groom reaction to a gift that I have ever seen. She did give him a Rolex watch, so there's that, but seriously, he was blown away!! It was so awesome to document that!

The ceremony was lovely and the reception was awesome. So much love in one room together. It was a pleasure and an honor to play a part in their forever. Congratulations to Ryan and Michelle!! Check out Jennifer's blog post for the FULL story of the day!
