Italy // Amalfi Coast
/On day two of our trip we headed south to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast to really get a taste (literally and figuratively) of what this amazing country of Italy was all about!
In case you aren't familiar, here is a little snapshot of the area.
Today we headed to Positano first to walk around the beautifully colored storefronts and restaurants that make up this amazing city built on a hill. We met up with my friend Darby's cousin and her husband (they were there for a stop on their European honeymoon) and we checked out some stores had an AMAZING lunch overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and just took it all in before driving down the twisty road to the city of Amalfi.
Amalfi was a busy little town full of tourists. We luckily found a parking garage and just wandered the streets snacking on gelato, buying some leather goods (hello new purse!) and gifts and we happened on a church that happened to be gorgeous on the inside. We discovered it was the Amalfi Cathedral which is dedicated to St. Andrew and also contains his crypt! So cool!
This day on the coast was a highlight from the trip. The weather was perfect. The company was joyful. The food was incredibly satisfying and the scenery did NOT disappoint. I knew little of this stunning stretch of goodness before our time there, but it has made a lasting impression!
